M has been into birthdays lately and known that her birthday was coming up. She thinks Mama's birthday was coming up too - but whatever. I caught her with Brandon's mail a few days before her birthday, doing this with no prompting:
I forgot to take a picture at the Dr.'s office, but her new stats are:
Height: 35.25 inches -- 85th percentile
Weight: 28lbs 10.6 oz -- 85the percentile
Head Cir: 19.69 inches -- 98th percentile
So she's pretty proportional, except her head's on the big side :). Good thing that's the last time they measure it!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Birthday morning came and M found- and stole - a "happy birthday cake". When I told her yes, it is your birthday, she wanted her birthday hat on too. I don't even know where she got that from, but she's the one that wanted birthday hats.
Dressed for the morning, and another cupcake stolen. Also, her first present - thanks GoMa!
Birthday party was spring themed ... I made all these cupcakes. I wanted variety so made 3 types. Looking back, I don't know why I spent so much time decorating them all when I didn't need so many and box cakes are cheap. I think I did a decent job on them tho. We also did a good job on the party, having our food ready in time and plenty of it and drink (wasn't the case last year).
What I didn't do a decent job on was taking pictures or managing M's hair. I'm slowly learning. I may have to give up the cake next year .... for some reason I just find it fun. Her's a poor picture of her and her buddy Merrick.
Cake time! I guess we should have practiced blowing out candles before, and taken Brandon away from cake duty (he blew her candle out last year too).
Present time! Her favs were her Elsa and Anna dolls (thanks Gramma Nancy) and her new baby (thanks Papa!) and clothes (thanks GeeMa!). I only took 2 videos of her opening gifts, and this is the only one that fits here.
Everyone went back outside, only to discover M later (with her new baby):
New skates from Kim! Roller derby, here I come:
Really helps complete the black eye (or vice versa???)
More cupcakes!
New shoes (thanks Jana and Ben!)
The morning after, with her new baby and Elsa dress on:
And sporting some new shades (thanks Reina!)
And back to school on Monday - her first day in the 2's classroom! I wish she'd let me do her hair!
